Place the object ball on the far side of the side pocket, hiding about half of it (or maybe a little less) behind the point of the pocket.
I place the cue ball two balls width out from the cushion at the second diamond. You can start closer and work your way back. I like to freehand this, but it's probably more effective if you can get your leg on the table and bridge off of it. I use about 80 degrees of elevation. My tip hits the cue ball at 6 o'clock aiming parallel to the long rail, but the stroke adds a little left english, so I'm actually stroking towards myself. Hit it firm and keep pushing the limits of the miscue circle.
Most guys would shoot this with their shin on the rail so they can bridge on their leg. This version is for those not-so-tall people who aren't comfortable doing that.
