The cue ball is on top of a stacking ball inside a rack. By hitting a masse shot, the cue ball flies out of the rack, then masses back into it, pocketing the hanging ball in the corner pocket.
Discipline: Masse
Difficulty: Intermediate
The setup is pretty basic. Hang a ball in the corner, freeze a rack to it, and then balance the cue ball on the stacking ball inside the rack. Usually we'll specify the stacking ball has to be about 1 chalk distance from the two sides of the triangle closest to the pocket. This makes it so you have to hit the cue ball harder to get it out of the rack. If the cue ball is too close to the outer edge though, the stacking ball will likely hit it and may move the rack out enough that even when you masse back into it, it won't make the hanging ball.
I aim straight out through the middle of the outer side of the rack. Hit with straight 6 o'clock with ~80 degrees of elevation. If the stacking ball is knocking the rack, go with even more elevation. Hit it harder if the cue ball isn't getting out of the rack.
