The cue ball and the object ball start on top of the rail. I shoot the cue ball across the table. The object ball rolls along the rail and falls onto the table when it reaches the side pocket, just in time as the cue ball kicks back to pocket it.

I freeze the cue ball and object ball on top of the rail, around one diamond from the side pocket. You can vary the distance and adjust your stroke for it.
I aim at the near point of the opposite side pocket to start with. Don't hit it too hard, just enough to get the object ball to fall on to the table bed. You can adjust the speed of the object ball with your aim or by moving the initial setup closer or farther from the side pocket. Luck's definitely involved, so here's hoping it's on your side.
